“Fiesta Week is an annual event organized by the Oshawa Folk Arts Council. For the last 40 years, the OFAC, a non-profit organization that aids in sustaining and celebrating the cultural diversity and multicultural communities of Oshawa, has brought together over 15 local non-profit cultural groups (Pavilions) for a week-long family celebration across Oshawa.
Buy a Fiesta Week Passport at any of the participating pavilions for $10 per adult or $5 per youth (under 14s are free with a paying adult!) Once you have your passport, it becomes your entry ticket to all of the pavilions. But take some cash when you head out, because food and drink at each pavilion is extra.
Many of the pavilions, including Ukrainian, Greek, Serbian, African, Italian, Caribbean and French Canadian, open their doors to the hungry masses and offer plates of regional specialities at a reasonable price for both lunch and dinner. Check out the 2018 list of pavilions to find times and locations. Some take orders in advance so all you need to do is call in and pick up!
Most pavilions offer lively music and dance shows in the evening, and all you need is your Fiesta Passport to enter!
There’s a reason many pavilions are open till the wee hours on Friday and Saturday – Fiesta Week is all about having fun! But check which pavilions are open late before you head out: some close before 10 pm, while others will stay open till 2 am.” – Fiesta Week
